'Heart of Gold'

This painting featuring beloved 'Olvi' is now complete. Initially drafted using Derwent Charcoal on this stunning box linen canvas, then detailed and layered with Atelier Acrylic paints. I always wanted to paint the full body profile of a bull to depict further the grandeur and eminence of this magnificent creature and improve my techniques. Our darling Olvi, with his gentle manner and gracious and serene soul was my perfect inspiration.  

 My inspiration went deeper than I had initially thought as my brushes instinctively awakened the grassland and sky above. An 'esoteric enlightenment of the soul' had occurred, without my knowledge, as I created this landscape from my heart. While working on the finishing touches of my painting 'Golden Heart', I sent a photo to the former owners of Olvi, which is when I was overwhelmed to discover this incredible spiritual connection. To quote the reply I recieved: ' .. it looks like he is standing in the middle of our crater. We live at this spot, where a meteorite hit the ground a long time ago. Summertime it is like a prarie, with the cows grazing'
